The OncoBIO groups have an significant training capacity and experience.

During the 2008-2012 period a total of 57 theses were defended by PhD students working in OncoBIO groups. In addition, 104 post-doctoral researchers were trained by the OncoBIO groups in the same period.

Lab Manager at the Cell Division and Cancer Group (CNIO)

The successful candidate is expected to be highly motivated, creative, and capable of working independently with a proactive attitude.

Excellent communication skills in oral and written English.

LABORATORY MANAGER: to maintain a laboratory environment that is organized, safe, and compliant with regulations concerning biological research.

Responsibilities include:
  • Control of the everyday operational aspects, safety management, and managing and disposing of chemical, biological, and radioactive wastes.
  • Managing laboratory supplies/inventory, e.g., ordering supplies, creating and maintaining shared digital databases, general laboratory maintenance, including upkeep of laboratory equipment, stocks.
  • Training new students and (or) students in training.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
REQUIRED:
  • Experience managing research groups is a plus;
  • A background in science; strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team of international graduate students, post-docs, research staff, and trainees;
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceeding quality standards, providing exceptional services, and producing accurate and high-quality work;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Meticulous attention to detail;
  • Practiced documentation skills;
  • Awareness of laboratory safety issues.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.

Technician / Titulado Superior at the Cell Division and Cancer group (CNIO)
We are seeking a Research Technician with expertise in Molecular and Cell Biology.

We require:
  • Expertise in biochemical and enzymatic analysis.
  • Expertise in cell culture, cell transfection and transduction, and cell proliferation assays.
  • Expertise in cytometry and immunofluorescence.
  • Expertise in xenograft models.
The successful candidate is expected to be highly motivated, creative, and capable of working independently with a proactive attitude.
Excellent communication skills in oral and written English are also required.

About us

The OncoBIO Consolider Network was constituted in December 10th 2007 with the main goal of a better understand of the Cancer Biology.

This coordinated project will provide critical information for the development of new strategic opportunities aimed at improving those diagnostic and therapeutic approaches currently used to treat cancer patients.
